Summer Camp Launch Week

We have a lot of exciting news to share! Firstly, thank you to all of our volunteers and donors who helped keep us busy with camp improvements this fall. All of our cabins have new roofs now, and we also rebuilt the deck on the Jerusalem cabin. Read on below to hear all about Camp Launch Week and what we have planned for Summer 2024.

All of our Summer 2024 information is now available on our new website. Head over to spiritinthepinescamp.org to read about the camp sessions that interest your family. Also, follow along all week for fun social media giveaways and more! If you have questions about camp or are newer to our community we have two parent meeting options this week where you can ask our staff questions about registration, scholarships, or anything you are wondering about for next summer.

For a limited time only we are selling Camp Beanies to add some fun into our Camp Launch Week! We will be offering these as a giveaway on social media, as well as taking orders for a short period from 11/17 – 12/3. Get one while you can!

The first 20 orders for each style will be available for pick-up before Christmas in our first delivery. We will respond within two days of receiving your order to let you know if your item will be in the first delivery or the second delivery. If your order is in the second delivery, it may still arrive before Christmas and it is guaranteed by middle to late January.

You can view our full Summer 2024 Brochure here, and each camp has its own informational page with dates and rates on our website. If you happen to have a rising 6th grader this year, they can pick what is right for them and attend either the elementary weeks or the middle school weeks.

Family Camps

Join other parents in-person or online to talk about camp and ask any questions you might have. Parents will gather in the Chapel at St. Andrew on Wednesday, November 15th from 5:30 – 6:00 P.M. The online meeting is Saturday, November 18th from 11:00-11:30 A.M. Click here to join. Email campingministry@standrewlu.org for support if needed.

December 2-3: Our two-day lottery system will open Saturday, December 2 at 8:00 AM, and it will run through the end of the day Sunday, December 3. Campers can register at anytime on these two days for equal entry into the lottery using registration links found at spiritinthepinescamp.org/registration. Each camper will register for their first choice session, with their status marked as “applied.” There will be a question within that registration regarding if that camper has a second choice.

The Lottery System Has These Priority Levels:

1. St. Andrew Member or Confirmation Family

2. Friend or Sibling Registered for the Same Week

3. Total Years at Camp Accumulated by a Family

4. Multiple 2024 Registrations for One Family

December 4: Campers who are admitted to their first or second choice session will be notified and auto-enrolled on Monday, December 4th by 5:00 P.M. This is also the time at which registration will open fully with same-time enrollment confirmation. This is also the time when campers who wish to enroll in weeks of camp may do so.

Registration Stays Open All Spring and Summer: Our website has a chart of all camp openings updated every Tuesday (spiritinthepinescamp.org/current-openings). While many of our sessions later in the summer fill up very quickly, we encourage you to join the waitlist even if camp is less than a week or two away. We always have a few last-minute cancelations.

Deposit & Forms: The $100 deposit is required at the time of enrollment. All other forms, including the health forms, will be added to your account on March 1 and are due by May 1.

Scholarships & Donations: We work hard to make sure that every camper who wants to attend camp can go! All families can apply for a scholarship every year, and we do our best to honor all requests on at least an every other year basis. Donations to our Scholarship Fund can be made during registration or at any time by contacting us (campingministry@standrewlu.org).

Every summer we hire 15-20 college students to live and work at camp all summer. These staff members form an incredible and hard working community. We strive to support them well, and tailor positions to their unique career ambitions. We hire a mix of first year and returning staff, and the application will be available on our website on December 15th. Interviews will take place the first week of January, and all callbacks will occur on January 17th. Click here to find the Staff Application when it is live.

Our Camp Counselors from Spirit in the Pines volunteer at these fabulous events all year long. This is a great way for our newest and youngest campers to meet counselors before the summer even starts and form supportive relationships.

Parent’s Night Out: These events happen on the first Friday of every month from 5:00-8:00 PM! Kids will have dinner, hear an inspirational story, play games and watch a movie while parents enjoy an evening out! Parents are asked to volunteer once if attending multiple events. Check out this link for more details and to sign up! Suggested donations are $20/kid or $30/family.

Serve and Play Release Days: Are you looking for something for your Elementary kids to do when they don’t have school?  St. Andrew Children’s Ministry and our Spirit in the Pines Counselors have teamed up to provide Serve and Play Release Days from 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. on release days for multiple school disctricts throughout the year. Sign-up links for each date will go out four weeks prior, and the cost is $45. This includes supplies for our service project, a fun activity or field trip, bussing and snacks. Upcoming dates include: 1/22, 1/26, 2/19, and 4/5.
