A Brand New Kind of Week!
Week 2 Blog – June 21-26, 2026
by Ryan Holtz
Our second week at camp this summer was extra special for a variety of reasons. The first being that it was our first-ever joint middle school and high school week. This meant that we got to try lots of new activities and games. One of the biggest new adventures was the bike ride to an ice cream shop called Big Dipper. We have a beautiful bike path from camp on the Paul Bunyan Trail into downtown Hackensack. The ride home became even more memorable thanks to an unexpected detour that made the trip a little longer than expected by taking the second left off the trail back to camp. While our legs may have been a bit more tired by the end, it definitely gave us another story we’ll be talking about all summer.
Another highlight was the debut of the Secret Doomscrolling Olympics. Campers and staff engaged in skits, games and fun activities, and the competition brought plenty of laughs. It was one of those activities that showed how the most random activities can be fun at camp.
The giant slide continued to be one of the most popular attractions around camp. Whether it was someone’s first ride or their fifteenth, it has yet to fail to bring smiles, laughter, and plenty of excitement throughout the week.
We also mixed things up with a game of Crazy Soccer. With unique rules, nonstop action, and lots of friendly competition, it quickly became one of the week’s favorite games.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without our incredible kitchen crew. They kept everyone fueled with delicious meals all week long, and we are so thankful for the hard work they put in behind the scenes. Great food always makes great camp days even better!
As Week 2 comes to a close, we’re grateful for all the adventures, friendships, and memories we’ve made. We can’t wait to see what next week has in store!
